교회가 위치한 몽고메리카운티의 지방정부에 참여하는 것은

 교회의 증축이나 기타 문제,

 그리고 지역에 사는 교인들의 문제를 지방정부를 통해서 도움을 주기위해서도 중요한 문제입니다.

 교회 주변에 사시는 분들께서 3년 임기동안 한달에 한번 내지 두번정도 회의에 참석해서

 교회나 한인동포들을 위해서 좋은 정보들을 교환하고 알려주는 일을 하면 좋을 것입니다.

 물론 자원봉사로 월급받고 하는 것은 아니고,  교통비나 베이비싯 비용정도는 받을 수 있는 명예직입니다.

 참고하시고 교회를 대표해서 교인이나 한인동포를 위해서 지역사회 선교사로 나갈 분 없을까요??

Public participation contributes to the work of County government and provides an important service to the community when a variety of issues, concerns, and viewpoints are presented. Currently, there is a valuable opportunity to serve on the following:

• Upcounty Citizens Advisory Board

Leggett Seeks Applicants for Board of Social Services

County Executive Isiah Leggett is seeking applicants to fill one public vacancy on the Montgomery County Board of Social Services.

The thirteen member Board advises the Department of Health and Human Services, the County Executive and County Council, as well as the Social Services Officer on the local application of state policies and procedures, receives briefings on local department activities, and communicates to the residents broad and comprehensive information as to the objectives, policies, programs and problems of local social services and public assistance administration in the County.

Members of the Board of Social Services serve three year terms without compensation, but are eligible for reimbursement for travel and dependent care for meetings attended. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in Rockville.

Leggett Seeks Applicants for Upcounty Citizens Advisory Board

County Executive Isiah Leggett is seeking applicants to fill three vacancies on the Upcounty Citizens Advisory Board.

The Upcounty Citizens Advisory Board represents approximately 300,000 residents in the area north of Shady Grove Road, including the communities of Barnesville, Beallsville, Boyds, Clarksburg, Damascus, Darnestown, Dickerson, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Goshen, Laytonsville, Montgomery Village, North Potomac, Poolesville, Tobytown, and Washington Grove. Residents of Clarksburg, Laytonsville, Barnesville, Beallsville, Dickerson, Washington Grove, and Poolesville are particularly encouraged to apply.

The 20-member Board advises the County Executive, County Council, and the Regional Director of the Upcounty area on needs and priorities such as transportation, human services, the environment, land use, public safety, and other issues of local importance. It also reviews and comments on the County’s capital and operating budgets and master plans; assists with strategies to tailor services to regional needs; and conducts workshops and forums. Some members represent the Board on other committees.

Members serve three-year terms without compensation, but are eligible for reimbursement for travel and dependent care for meetings attended. The full Board meets one Monday evening of each month and occasionally on Saturdays at the Upcounty Regional Services Center in Germantown. Members are also expected to serve on at least one subcommittee, which also meets each month on a Monday evening.
