Experiencing God (12): Sustaining God’s Presence in Your Life
(John 15:4-5)
Rev. Neil Kim
I. Symptoms of losing intimacy of fellowship with God.
You no longer hear from God. (Deut. 30:17)
Joy is lost. (John 15:10-11)
There is no spiritual fruit being produced. (John 15:4)
You no longer experience victory in your life. (Deut. 28:25)
II. How does the loss of intimacy happen?
By losing your focus on the Lord (Luke 15:3-7)
By failing to guard your heart and mind (Luke 15:8-10)
Through disobedience (Luke 15: 11-36)
III. Remedy for restored fellowship with God (2 Chronicles 7:13-14)
Humility
Prayer
Seeking His presence
Turning away from your sin
IV. Application
Is your heart not as passionate and devoted to God as it once was? Why do you think it is? Pray that God will return and restore your passion for God.
Have you been distracted from following Jesus? By what? How did you deal with it?
Have you ever intentionally turned away from Him? How were you able to return to God?
