III. Lessons from a Radical Church
The church was founded amidst terrible hardship, but it became its strength.
God worked through the church’s particular circumstances and they followed God’s leading without resistance.
They received the Jerusalem Church’s guidance and approval. You must be willing to submit to authorities and show humility if you want to be used by God.
Barnabas understood the importance and the necessity of working with others. He was always looking out for them. (12:25)
They began with small responsibilities. Find something you can do immediately. (11:27-30)
They sent the two most important leaders. Serving God requires our utmost.
It wasn’t circumstances like persecution that drove them to launch missions. It was decided proactively, not because God drove them into the corner but because they followed the Holy Spirit’s direction.
They didn’t start because everything was ready, rather, they began because they had faith.
