Are You a Complainer or a Praiser?
(Psalm 23)
Rev. Neil Kim

We live in a very complaining society. People gripe about everything. But in contrast, Psalm 23 finds King David being so content and satisfied with his life. And it gives us many insights into how we can become grateful people rather than people who are full of complaints.

 I. He is my shepherd. (v. 1)
“My shepherd” reveals a personal relationship.
He is a good shepherd. (John 10:11-15)

II. He supplies us with all we want. (v. 1)
David is totally content with the Lord’s care that he has nothing else he desires.

III. He does the following for us:
He provides physical and spiritual food. (v. 2a)
He refreshes us. (v. 2b)
He rescues us and restores us. (v. 3a)
He leads us in the ways to go. (v. 3b)
He helps us overcome our fears. (v.4a)
He protects us and comforts us. (v. 4b)
He takes care of us in times of trouble. (v. 5a)
He gives us a perfect joy and peace. (v. 5b)
His goodness and love always will be there for us. (v. 6)

IV. How are we to respond to Him for what does for us?
Understanding how much He cares for us and knowing all sacrifices He makes for us.
Giving thanks to Him that comes from our heart.

 V. Application:
Are you a complainer or praiser? Make a list of what God has done for you, and compare it with a list of complains you have. How does your comparison look?
Share one thing you can thank God for from past year.
Share one thing you are thankful for to each of your family members.
