Bible Ezekiel 17-19

jamie2.jpg “Sing a Song of Lament”
Ezekiel 17-19

I. We must have a proper historical understanding of the times
“Men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do” (2 Chron. 12:32)
“It is not for you to know the times or the dates the Father has set by his own authority.” (Acts 1:7) “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised” (Acts 1:4)

II. We must have a proper Biblical understanding of salvation
Ultimately God will ask us to account for our sin
God will judge each one according to his own ways
If we repent and turn away from all our offenses, God will forgive us.
We must get rid of all the offenses and get a new heart and a new spirit.
God does not want anyone to perish.

III. A Lament
Glamorous beginning
Tragic turnout
Hopeless present circumstances
In need of a Messiah

IV. Application
The Bible talks often about the “time,” and we know that no amount of prophecy will make any difference in our lives unless we pay attention. Do you pay attention to the “times” in which we live?
Ezekiel, along with many other prophets, indicated the end of the nation had come, but they refused to listen. Why? Why did they have such a hard time accepting it?
