Bible Matthew 15:21-28

Neil.jpg “The Canaanite Woman”
Matthew 15:21-28

We find, from Matthew 15:21-28, a Mom who would do anything and everything for her child’s healing and would not take “No” for an answer. From this passage, we learn about the precious characteristics of a Mother’s heart.

I. Mother’s Love. (v.22)

It was her intense love for her daughter that sought out Jesus.
Mom’s love enables us to experience a glimpse of God’s love.

II. Mother’s persistency. (v.23-27)

She neither refused to give up nor was intimidated. (v.23)
She withstood humiliation. (v.24)
She never lost hope. (v.24, 26)
She was determined to go all the way. (v.27)

III. Mother’s sacrifice. (v.27)

She was willing to be humiliated for her daughter’s healing.
She didn’t care about herself if there was something that could be done for her daughter.

IV. Mother’s faith. (v.28)

She overcame obstacles of who she was.
She refused to be discouraged.
She was willing to sacrifice herself for her daughter at all cost.

V. Applications:

Have you hugged your Mom today? If not, give her a big hug and tell her that you love her very much.
Mom, are you running out of patience while trying to be a good Mom? Don’t give up and love your children. Don’t stop praying for them.
Mom, are you discouraged? Hope in the Lord and He will make it happen.
