(2) Just give me the Light! (John 1:6-18)

I. John the Baptist was sent from God (John 1:6)
1. A calling is given, destined by God; He is in supreme control of all things
2. There is an eternal destiny for us all, let’s walk in such truth

II. John the Baptist purposed his life on Christ, not himself (John 1:7-9)
1. To bear witness; to declare and reveal evidence of Jesus the Christ
2. John is not the primary, Jesus is

III. To believe in Jesus is to know humility (John 1:10-11)
1. The motivation of Jesus’ obedience to the Father is love
2. the Light reveals how to live to the fullest
 
IV. To believe in Jesus is to know divine adoption; a heavenly choice flowing downward (John 1:12-13)
1. Our “right”eousness is established through the work of Jesus; to receive       and believe
2. We are born of God

V. To believe in Jesus is to the know the Word (John 1:14)
1. He is the fullness of grace and truth, a calling for us to dwell within

VI. To believe in Jesus is to know God (John 1:15-18)
1. Out of His fullness we have all received; grace is now our reality
