Do Not Fear!

“Do Not Fear!”

Revelation 2:8-11

A city of Smyrna – “The crown, ornament, flower of Asia.”
A city of Smyrna – A center of the imperial cult of Rome and Emperor worship.
I know your afflictions (v. 9)
I know your poverty; (v. 9, Revelation 3:17, 2 Corinthians 8:9)
I know about the slander (v. 9)
Remember, Jesus went through and have experienced what we go through as His
devoted followers.
Do not be afraid - "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the
soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Matthew 10:28
“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s
crown.” (10b)
