Obedience to God
(Acts 16:16-40)
Rev. Sara Pyon
I. Obedience to God does not guarantee smooth sailing in life
Paul wants to go to Asia, but God stops him (16:6)
God calls Paul to Macedonia and Paul obeys immediately (16:9-10)
Paul and Silas are flogged and thrown into prison (16:22-24)
II. Obedience to God gives you confidence and strength even in trials
Paul and Silas praise God in prison (16:25)
The prisoners witness the power of God (16:25-28)
III. Obedience to God results in saving lives
Lydia and her household are saved (16:14-15)
The jailer and his whole family come to believe in God (16:31-34)
Paul and Silas are released once their mission is accomplished (16:35-37)
IV. Are you living a life of obedience to God?
