Greetings Everyone!!!

Well, here we are in our fourth month of our spiritual journey with our Father in Ghana. We would like to thank everyone for all of their prayers and support. The gathering of former Trokosi women went quite well on the 31st of May. We were able to get together 23 former Trokosi women and also several local women from surrounding villages who wanted to have fellowship with us. In addition to the women, two officers from the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) came and spoke to the women to inform them of their rights as women under Ghanaian law. We were able to have a time of fellowship, worship and Bible study. All honor and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who was able to touch the hearts of many of the women at the gathering. Although none of the nonbelievers converted, many expressed an interest to hear more of the gospel.

Thanks again to all of you for your prayers! We wanted to give you an update on some of our previous prayer topics. We had some resolution for Charity, the woman whose grandson was missing. We had thought the child had been abducted, but he was not. His mother, who has mental problems, had let him wander away. Someone had found the child and taken him to the police. After investigating, the police felt the child was not in a safe environment so they took him to an orphanage. Eventually, the child was adopted. It appears the adopting family is very responsible and will give him many more opportunities in life than he otherwise would have had.

Many of you may also remember Dorcas, whose family has been besieged with many tragedies. In the previous newsletter, we informed you of her son, Moses, who was dying of AIDS. Moses passed away and will be buried on July 7th. Moses was a Christian and so we rejoice with him that he has now gone home. Indeed, when James was trying to comfort Dorcas, it was Dorcas who told James to rejoice with her and not be saddened, for her son is in a better place now. Please pray for her as she prepares for the funeral arrangements. The custom in Ghana is to have an elaborate funeral, feeding everyone who attends. People are already trying to pressure her to spend more than she can afford. She is also getting attacks from the elders from the shrine where she used to be a slave. The elders are telling her that her troubles are all because she became a Christian. Please pray for continued strength as she goes through this time of trial.

Thank you for all of your prayers and support. We love and miss you all!

James & Denese
