Happy New Year!!

We miss MD, family, friends and NCFC.  It has been very challenging, but God has been filling our needs and strengthening us so we are able to serve where the need is.  When we first arrived, we had the challenge of mold infested rooms, but that has been taken care of, praise God!!

We realize that coming on an outreach is really about God sharpening us and working on our own character and blessing us and by that process, we (hopefully) bless the people we come to serve and share the gospel with.

Nicholas and Makayla has been tremendous.  They teach us what blessing others is all about.  Nicholas and Makayla has been washing/chopping/peeling/cooking/serving food and sweeping/mopping the floor at the homeless shelter that our team serves 3 days a week.  They are so joyful doing this work.  We also teach 2 days at Lifebridge Learning Center to the most underprivileged children from Myanmar/Burma (their parents had to flee from their own country b/c of persecution and death, hoping their Muslim brothers will recognize them here in Malaysia, but sadly, not so); Nicholas has been so helpful here as well and Makayla serves at a thrift store shop that YWAM owns by steaming and ironing and hanging up clothes with our German friend and helps watch her one year old baby!!  We also serve at the Door of Hope on Saturdays and they both go and help with ESL, mainly Nicholas b/c Makayla says "the kids don't really listen to her" even though she can help them.  Alex and I serve by leading the children's ministry there.  We also attend the Tamil Methodist Church (Indian church) on Sunday's and afterwards, two groups divide to serve in the children's ministry (4-14yrs) and the youth (15-25yrs) ministry.

One of the highlights for our family has been the PenHop (Penang's IHOP).  It's just down our street we're living at and we're required to attend at least an hour every Friday evening there:  soaking, meditating, praying and just worshipping; it's been one of our haven!  Makayla saw angels there two Friday's in a row!!  Nicholas can't stop praying over us in there, if he had it his way, he would pray over all three of us all night long!!  Wow, talk about signs and wonders!  An (almost) complete stranger who happens to be a Korean, gave me a verse for me and our family, Isaiah 43:1-3; this came in such a timely manner.  God just used her as His vessel to bless our family in such a way that blessed us tremendously, we so needed to hear that!  We thanked God as a family!!  We also go out for evangelism on Wednesday evening's from 8-10pm, either Alex or I go out due to kids.  Our only days off are Tuesdays.  We have team worship time everyday except Tuesday's, we serve four evening's and six days out of the week, it's been very exhausting, but our kids humble us and we can't complain when they don't.  Just wanted to share our ministries and what our schedule is like.

Our prayer requests:

-people of Malaysia (Malay's, Chinese, Indian's, Orang Asli - Indigenous people, Indonesian's, Bangladesh, Vietnamese, Naptali's, Myanmar/Burmese people) to repent of their ways and idols and seek the one and only God

-for the children at Lifebridge (all Muslims) to know and accept Jesus, whether now or later; we may be just the ones to dig the ground for others to harvest at a later time, but hoping and praying for their salvation; very challenging when they barely understand English

-to serve with joy

-trust that God's way is always better than what we think is better

-to be bold and share the gospel, even though this is a Muslim nation

-to learn what God is teaching us

-to end strong in Malaysia

-not be so homesick :(

-to see everyone through the eyes of God

-physical, emotional, mental health and well being of our family (so hot and humid, we get wiped out)

-we leave here on February 14, we ask for traveling mercies back to HI.  We will stay overnight in Taiwan as we did coming here and arrive back in Kona, HI for debriefing for one week

-to find a place that we can call home in Kona, HI

-visit to MD in March to ship our things (so excited to visit home)

In His Grace,

Pam & family
