“Warning! Do Not Indulge The Sinful Nature”
Galatians 5:13-21
I. Warning! Do Not Indulge the Sinful Nature (v. 13)
II. Three Kinds of Man
The natural person: before conversion (1 Cor. 2:14)
The worldly Christian: __________ Christian (1 Cor. 3:1-3)
The spiritual person led by the Spirit: mature Christian (1 Cor. 2: 13)
III. Operating out of the Battleground __________ (v. 13)
IV. Who Wins? (vv. 16-17)
V. How Do You Know? (vv. 19-23)
VI. You Will Not Inherit the Kingdom (v. 21)
VII. Conclusion (vv. 25-26)
VIII. Application
One of the most serious problems we face these days is “worldly Christians” in the church. These are people who refuse to grow up after their conversion. They live according to their worldly desires; therefore they don’t have clear spiritual fruit in their lives. What do you think about this?
Even though God has set us free we do not live according to the Spirit and that’s why we struggle all the time. How can we win in this battle?
Paul said the people he mentioned in Galatians 5:19-21 cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. What is your response to this warning?
