“Shema”
Ezekiel 20-22

This week’s scripture is from Ezekiel 20-22, but we will focus on Chapter 20 for today’s message.

I. Outline of Ezekiel 20

The elders of Israel are reminded of the rebellion in Egypt (vv. 1-9)
The elders of Israel are reminded of the rebellion in the wilderness (vv. 10-26)
The elders of Israel are reminded of the rebellion in Canaan (vv. 27-32)
God promises to forgive and restore them (vv. 33-44)
Prophecy against Jerusalem (vv. 45-49)

II. Application

What is rebellion against the Lord?
How have you rebelled against the Lord?
Read 20:8 and discuss why people do not listen to God.
How do we listen to God?
What do we do when God seems silent?
There are grey areas in life. How do we discern what is right?
How do we follow God’s commands for our family when some family members are not interested in obeying God’s commands?
Read 20:44 and discuss.
Verbalize specific instances of rebellion and ask for forgiveness from God.
Seek His will and praise Him together.
