Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:16-20

 

The doctrine of the Trinity is central to our faith. The word “trinity” means
“tri-unity” or “three-in-oneness,” which means that God is three persons yet
one God.
I. What is Trinity?
1. God is three persons
2. Each Person is fully God
3. There is one God.
II. What does each person of the Trinity Do?
1. God works for us. God the Father planned creation and redemption
and sent His Son Jesus.
2. Jesus works in us. The Son Jesus obeyed God the Father and
accomplished redemption for us.
3. Holy Spirit works through us. The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father
and the Son to enable us to live a redemptive lifestyle.
III. Uneven emphasis on any of the Godhead may lead us to confusion.
1. God the Holy Spirit error.
2. God the Son Jesus only error.
3. God the Father error.
IV. Application
1. Now the question is does the Trinity really matter to us?
2. As the Triune-God, God is showing their relationship, diversity,
and unity amongst themselves to us.
3. God has ordained humanity that there would be both diversity
and unity in their relationships that reflect His own relationship.
