“The Danger of Spiritual Apathy”
Rev. Jason Kim
Haggai 1:1-6
“I know your deeds, that you ar
e neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either
one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am
about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth
and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful,
poor, blind and naked.” Revelation 3:15-17
I. A Job Undone
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three
days.” John 2:19
“you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy
priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 2:5
“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit
dwells in your midst?” 1 Corinthians 3:16
II. Cold-hearted Familiarity
III. Making Excuses
This is what the LORD Almighty says: "These people say, 'The time has not yet
come to rebuild the LORD's house.'" (v.2)
IV. Three Rs – Remember, Repent, Return
“Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.”
Revelation 2:4
