Paul’s Conversion
(Acts 9:1-31)
Rev. Mark Kosko
Do you know The Way?
I. Paul fiercely loved the Lord
As a prominent Jew he breathed murderous threats towards Christians
A stunning encounter with Jesus obliterated his Jewish identity in God
Broken and humbled he went from cruel persecutor to persecuted
II. Paul’s conversion was no accident
He was a prominent Jewish high official
He was completely rejected from his life as he knew it but God provided a new community of believers
It took time but Paul was accepted among those he previously hated
III. God prepares The Way for each of us
We don’t have to be “good enough” to become Christians- Paul was far from it
Following The Way brings peace within the church through the Holy Spirit
Living in the “fear of the lord” leads to wisdom and humility
IV. Application question:
Do you feel you have a clear idea of God’s will and purpose in your life? If so, do you see how it fits into God’s grand plan beyond just yourself? If not, do you still feel anchored and at peace in your faith?
