Biblical Finance: What To Do and Not To Do With Your Money
Rev. Neil Kim

 I. Don’t go into debt
What does the Bible say about debt?
Debt will harm us. (Romans 13:8)
Debt will enslave us. (Proverbs 22:7)
Debt will mortgage our future.
Debt will affect God’s work.
Should we ever borrow?
Are you already in debt?
Pray!  Seek God’s help and his guidance.
Start paying off your debt even if you can afford only small amount.
Sell what you are not using.
Adjust your lifestyle.
Learn to be content with what you have.

II. Be honest about dealing with money
We cannot be dishonest and love God. (John 14:15)
Dishonesty affects our relationships with others.
Honesty will prevent us from getting into trouble.
Honesty influences others.

 III. Be a giver
God cares more about your attitude than amount in giving. (Matthew 23:23)
How much should we give?
Ask him to give you a proper direction on giving.
Benefits of giving
Deeper intimacy with Jesus. (Matthew 6:21)
Christ-like character is developed.
Rewards in heaven. (Matthew 6:20)

 IV. Applications
Are you in debt?  Do you have a plan to get out of debt?  If you have a plan, share.  If not, what are you going to do about it?
Ask God to reveal any areas of dishonesty in your life.  Then, how are you going to deal with them?
From God’s perspective it is very important to give with the right attitude.  What’s been your attitude in giving?  How will this change your giving?
