Experiencing God (5): Hearing God When He Speaks
Rev. Neil Kim
(Ezekiel 12:2)
I. God spoke in the past and still speaks today.
God spoke in many different ways in the Bible. (Hebrews 1:1)
That God spoke to people is far more important than how He spoke.
When God spoke, the experience was usually unique to that individual.
When God spoke, the person was sure God was speaking and knew what God said.
When God speaks, He gives specific directions through the Holy Spirit.
God is more interested in a love relationship with you than what you can do for Him.
II. When God speaks, He reveals Himself
When God speaks, He reveals Himself first.
Then, He reveals His purpose.
God reveals His ways.
III. How does God speak to us?
God speaks through the Bible.
You must respond properly when God speaks to you through His Word. (Luke 8:18)
God speaks through prayer. (Romans 8:26-27)
IV. Applications
Have you heard God speaking to you? If you have, share your experience with others, and how did you respond to Him? What kind of adjustments did you have to make to align with what He was asking you to do?
Has God spoken to you through your prayer? If so, share what you sensed He was saying.
