Listen, Obey and Persevere
(Isaiah 43:15-21)
Rev. Neil Kim

Do you know that God is far more interested in your future than in your past?   God wants to give you a new beginning and a fresh start in life.

 I. Forget the past and do not dwell in them (v. 18)
Stop looking and analyzing your situation from your own perspective.
Stop blaming your circumstances and people that are hurting you.
If it was your fault, then admit it and own it.

II. Turn your eyes on God (v. 19)
Turn your eyes off of yourself and circumstances, and turn your eyes on God.
“If you call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  If you seek me with all your heart, you will find me….” (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

III. Focus your thoughts on God’s Words (v. 19)
If you focus on the thoughts of God, then God can show you the new way.
As we fill our mind with God’s words, He begins to change our mind to His mind.

IV. Trust God all the way (v. 19)
Trusting God means you must depend on him completely.
Trusting God means you listen, obey and persevere.

 V. Applications:
We all have pasts that keep us from moving forward.   Go through the steps we learned today and ask God to help you to go through the process so that you can move forward.
Is there anything in your past that you just can’t shake it off, share with others and pray for each other.
Trusting God means you must listen, obey and persevere.  Which area are you struggling the most?
