(Jonah 2 and Isaiah 6)

 I. God’s Calling
Jonah 1:1-2:  Go to Nineveh!
Isaiah 6:8-10 Whom Shall I Send? Who will go for us? Go and tell.
Acts 9:10-18 Go Pray for Saul (Ananias)
Gen 12:1 Go to the land I will show you (Abraham)

 II. Tough Mission
Jonah: Preach against their wickedness
Isaiah: Proclaim judgment for their stubbornness
Ananias: But Lord, Saul is the persecutor of churches.
Abraham: Leaving home for an unknown destination

 III. Different Response
Jonah: Ran Away from the LORD (1:3)
Isaiah: Here I am, send me!
Ananias
Abraham

 IV. God’s Heart
Love, Compassion, Redemption (Jonah)
Sheep without a shepherd (Matt 9:36)
Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few (Matt 9:37)

 V. Application
What is God’s calling for your life? How did God speak/reveal His plans for your life?
Why is it so difficult to obey God’s calling? What is hindering you from saying “yes” to his calling?
