(42) No One Who Believes Should Stay in the Darkness
(John 12:20-50)
Rev. Mark Kosko
I. Jesus Predicts his Death (vv. 20-27)
His death will produce life for many, including us
Call to service and discipleship
Jesus was troubled in the final hour but did not hesitate
II. Put Your Trust in the Light While you Still have it (vv. 28-36)
The Thundering voice from Heaven confirmed Jesus’ Words
Now is the time for Judgment, and the prince of this world will be driven out
But when the Seed is raised up, Christ will draw all men to himself
III. A Blind Eye and Deadened Heart can be Healed (vv. 37-50)
God’s Chosen People neither saw with their eyes nor understood with their hearts
The Jews would not confess their faith out of fear of man
We’re better off with the gentle words of Jesus than the Voice of God, or are we?
