(35) Kill! Kill! Kill! That’s all We Want
(John 18:28-19:16)
Dr. W. Jamie Kim

 I. Fascinating Dichotomy
Avoid ceremonial uncleanliness (18:28-29)
Taking the role of a judge (18:29-31)

 II. Man of Clear Conviction
No apology (18:36-37)
Only the truth (18:37-38)

 III. Evil Intention Exposed
Intention: Get rid of Jesus (19:6-7)
Any means possible: the end justifies the means (19:8-16)

 IV. Gracious Savior’s Response
Allow the will of God to triumph over human sinfulness
Rise above people’s pettiness
Have confidence in God and in your destiny

 V. Application
Perhaps it is impossible to live life without ever judging other people and/or other people’s behavior, but it is clear from the Bible that we are not supposed to do that. How do you balance your life?
Have you ever been unfairly or unjustly accused or judged by others? How did you handle the situation? And what was the final outcome of your response? What did you learn as a result?
What is the most impressive thing in this drama? What can you learn from this episode? What do you think about the actions of various people including Pilate, the religious leaders, the mob, and finally Jesus?
