(31) A Shepherd and a Thief
(John 10:1-21)
Dr. W. Jamie Kim
I. Contrast between a Shepherd and a Thief
A Shepherd enters by the gate. A thief climbs in by some other way.
Sheep know the voice of the shepherd. Sheep does not know the voice of the thief.
Sheep listen to the voice of the shepherd and follow. Sheep listen to the voice of the thief and run away.
II. The Good Shepherd
Knows them by name
Will lead to pasture
Gives life
Lays down his life
III. The Evil One
Comes to steal, and kill and destroy
Abandons and runs away
The sheep do not listen
IV. Application
Share from your experience how Jesus proved Himself as a Good Shepherd.
Jesus said He knows my name and I know Him and listen to His voice. Share from your own experience how this is true in your own life.
Psalm 23, written by David is the best description of one’s relationship with the Shepherd. Read it and share what it means to you.
