 I. John the Baptist’s Leadership and Influence
It was transparent
It was honest (vv. 31, 33)
Possessed insight and understanding  (vv. 29, 36)
Totally focused on Jesus (vv. 26-27, 29,36)
Didn’t need to explain or persuade (vv. 37)

 II. Jesus’ Leadership and Influence
It was transparent
It was naturally attractive
Asked questions (v. 38)
It was open (v. 39)
Had charisma that was hard to resist
It had authority

 III. Disciples’ Leadership and Influence
Followed first (v. 37)
Obeyed when called to follow (vv. 42, 43)
Brought others  (vv. 41-42, 45)

   IV. My Leadership and Influence (Application)
What kind of leadership and influence do you have among the people you live with?
What can you learn from John the Baptist?
What can you learn from Jesus’ leadership?
When you look at both Jesus and John the Baptist you immediately realize how open and transparent they were. Have you had similar mentors or leaders whose lives you learned from? Are you such a leader?
