“Radical Command, Extreme Obedience -
(3) Radical Evangelism” (Acts 3:1-11-12)
I. It is a God Thing: God Initiates
God gave them an opportunity
The apostles were keen to take advantage of the God-given opportunity
The apostles were disciplined and sensitive enough to believe and put their faith into practice
II. It Is a God Thing: God Answers
God honored their faith
The miracle happened
The miracle compelled people’s intrigue about what they witnessed
And this gave Peter an opportunity to preach
III. It Is a God Thing: God Provides
Why are you surprised?
God had already provided (vv.17-18, 26)
IV. But You Must Respond!
You must repent and turn to God (vv. 19, 26b)
You must obey Him (2:22-23)
V. Application
Don’t you just love it when God performs miracles like this? This makes evangelism so much easier. What can we do to see more miracles in our lives?
People are by nature more skeptical about miracles these days than any other time in the past. What contributes to this?
But it took so much courage and audacity to stand up and do what Peter and John did. How can we, too, be as bold and courageous as they were? What are you learning about “boldness” in Christ as you learn more about the “persecuted church?”
