"Baptism"
Dr. W. Jamie Kim
I. Baptism is a Mandate to Those Who Believe (Matt. 28:19)
To the one who gives and the one who receives
It is the first act of obedience after one’s conversion
Even Jesus received in order to obey and fulfill God’s will (Matt. 3:13-15)
They received it immediately (Acts 8:36; 16:33)
II. The Definition
United with God (Rom. 6:3-4; Col. 2:12)
Incorporated into the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13; Gal. 3:28)
Regenerated (John 3:5; Titus 3:5)
Forgiven (John 13:8; Acts 2:38)
Received the Holy Spirit, Enlightened by the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; Heb. 6:4)
III. Proclaim!
Do you confess that you are a sinner and there is no other way apart from the grace that is available through Jesus Christ to save you from the wrath of God?
Do you confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the one and only Savior of the world?
Do you promise to abandon everything and follow Jesus Christ as the Lord and Master for the rest of your life?
Do you promise that you will, at all times, depend on God and pursue righteousness for His sake for the rest of your earthly life?
