Pastor Sara grew up in a non-Christian home in Korea and immigrated to the US in 1977 at the age of 15. In 1983 at a college retreat she had a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and Lord. Upon her graduation from the University of Virginia with a BS in Electrical Engineering, she worked for IBM for 7 years.
Through a series of events God led her to resign from IBM and to join the NCFC as the Children’s Ministry Pastor in 1995. She received a MA in Christian Ed. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2000. She took a little hiatus from the church ministry and taught at a Christian School from 2000 – 2003.
Shortly after the NCFC Virginia Campus was launched in 2002, God made it clear that she was to return to the church. Since June 2003, God has indeed stretched her, allowing her to be involved with various aspects of the VA Campus ministries, including EC, Youth, Children, Preschool, & KC Early Morning Prayer. Currently she serves as the VA Campus Education Ministry Team Leader and as the Director of the Virginia Covenant Christian School.
She has been married to her patient and wonderfully supportive husband, Frank, since 1987, and they have two college-age children, Daniel & Stacey.
