PUGGLES

(3 and 4 year olds, must be 3 by September 1st)
The Puggles program is for 3 and 4 year olds.  It is an induction to the gospel and uses stories, games, and coloring and project books.

CUBBIES

   pic21.jpg   (4 and 5 year olds, must be 4 by September 1st)
The Cubbies program features Scripture memorization and basic Bible truths that preschoolers can understand.  The program materials help parents to actively participate in their child’s spiritual development.  Because the preschool years are a time of vital development for children, cubbies encourages parents and club leaders to work as a team in spiritually nurturing these children.  Since home is the primary place for spiritual nurturing, cubbies is designed to equip, encourage, and support parents in this task.  The Cubbies program provides preschoolers with foundational truths about God, the Bible, and salvation.  The verses they memorize will “plant seeds” that will help them understand the basics of the Christian faith.  Club time helps preschoolers develop positive attitudes toward church leadership as they begin to recognize their club leaders as loving, caring people.  They receive age-appropriate awards in a non-competitive system to provide tangible recognition of their progress (i.e., patches for their uniforms and stickers for their books).  Cubbies wear a blue vest and earn patches for their vest.
Cubbies may bring a friend to the club who is at least 4 years old, but at least one week’s notice given to the Cubbies’ director would be appreciated.  We will be asking parents to volunteer in Cubbies on a rotating basis.  The volunteer will help with snack and craft time.

SPARKS

(Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Graders)
Sparks moves the children through a disciplined walk with the Lord by providing Bible verses which reinforce the doctrine, provide activities, and help the kids understand the basic issues of honesty, manners, etc.pic3.jpg
The uniform is a red vest.  As your child completes sections in the handbook they earn awards which are to be worn on their uniform.  The first award after completing the rank is a Rank Patch and a crown.  As the Sparky moves through their handbook they earn red, green, and blue jewels which are snappedinto the crown.  Red jewels are for Bible drills, Green jewels are for Activities, and Blue jewels are for Attendance.  Only Sparks wearing their uniform will receive their awards.  These are given during council time one week after passing a section.
The clubbers compete to see who passes the most sections in their handbooks.  The members of a team that passes the most sections that night can receive AWANA dollars as rewards.  During Handbook time the clubbers also earn AWANA dollars for: attendance in AWANA, wearing their uniform, going to Sunday School, inviting friends, and bringing their Bible and Handbook.  The winning team at the game time can also win AWANA dollars.

TRUTH and TRAINING

(3rd to 5th Graders)
Children in Truth & Training (T & T) wear a green shirt and their awards are displayed on the uniform as they complete their handbooks and attendance requirements.  Clubbers can still wear the old gray and red uniform shirt.  The old uniform can be converted to T&T by changing the patch or, if you choose, a new uniform can be purchased.

All clubbers who are new to T & T begin with the Start Zone entrance book and then move to Book One regardless of which club or grade they are in.

HANDBOOK TIME
Bible Memorization:
Our club uses the New International Version (NIV) translation material.
AWANA uses the first book method for Sparks, which means that a new clubber begins the first book of a series regardless of what grade they are in.  For example, a second grade Spark, who is new to AWANA, would begin with the Gate then move to the Skipper book.
